A decade of heartache for the loved ones of William Tyrrell

September 12, 2024 by Alice Collins

For 10 long years the Australian public have asked ‘Where’s William?’, the cheeky little 3-year-old boy in the Spider-Man suit as William’s loved ones continued to suffer and pray for the call from police that precious William had been found – the call that has never come.

Although William’s disappearance sparked one of the most extensive and expensive ongoing investigations in Australian history with police targeting numerous persons of interest and spending millions of dollars on multiple exhaustive forensic searches; no charges relating to William’s disappearance have been laid and no trace of the little boy in the Spider-Man suit has ever been found.

“Our hearts break for all William’s loved ones. Now, as they await the outcome of the coronial inquest – the longest in NSW history, there is some new hope that finally they’ll learn what has happened to their precious little boy,” said Clare Collins, Where’s William? campaign director.

The Where’s William? campaign that initiated the first $1million reward in NSW, remains Australia’s largest missing persons campaign dedicated to supporting a police investigation.

“As long as there’s no evidence to suggest William is deceased, with stories of missing children being found alive decades after their abduction, the Where’s William? campaign holds on to the hope – however small – that William could still be found alive. He could be anywhere,” she said.

“On the tragic tenth anniversary of William’s unsolved disappearance, Where’s William? is inviting all Australians to show their love and support for William and his loved ones by lighting a candle to help create a symbolic pathway of hope – hope that William can find his way home to all who love him, especially his siblings.

“We will never give up on William or stop shining a spotlight on the need to find him as we continue to ask anyone with information, even the smallest piece, to please come forward and contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000,” said Ms Collins.

A ONE MILLION DOLLAR reward for information that leads NSW Police to William remains on offer. Make the call and help bring William home!

EVEN AFTER SEVEN YEARS OF HEARTBREAK – WE HAVE NOT GIVEN UP ON WILLIAM!

September 12, 2021 by Where's William? Campaign

From the moment William went missing we’ve never given up hope that he will be found. During those first dark days, tortuous weeks, months and heartbreaking years that followed we vowed that we would never give up and lived with the hope that whoever was involved in, or knew about William’s abduction would come forward.

On the seventh anniversary of William’s disappearance, we ask of the person or persons involved; how much more heartbreak must be endured before you come forward?

When you took William, you plunged our world into perpetual darkness.  How long will you continue to make us suffer?  When will you choose to come forward and end the nightmare we’ve endured every day for the past 2558 days since you took William from his happy life?

Over the past seven years William has been the subject of the largest police investigation in Australian history. NSW police have conducted multiple searches, collected thousands of pieces of information, identified hundreds of persons of interest, followed multiple leads of inquiry and posted the first one-million-dollar reward in NSW.

We say “thank you” to NSW Police, in particular to the detectives and the extended team on Strike Force Rosann for seven years of hard work and dedication in trying to find out what happened to William. We are deeply grateful for your ongoing commitment to William.

To the community of Kendall and people of the Mid-North Coast, the SES, the many volunteers, and those from all corners of Australia who’ve supported the search for William over the past seven years, we have not forgotten your outpouring of care for William and his loved ones. Our heartfelt thanks to you all.

Together, we will never give up on William!

A ONE MILLION DOLLAR reward is waiting for the person who can lead police to William – that’s one MILLION REASONS to make the call to Crime Stoppers NOW on 1800 333 000.

Make the call and help bring precious William home to the arms of those he loves and who love him.

Searching For William

July 8, 2020 by Where's William? Campaign

From those first horrific moments when we’d realised that William was missing, a sense of unimaginable panic and fear has gripped our hearts. On that terrible day we called for him – William. William where are you? Where are you William? We called the police – our boy is missing. We ran from house-to-house searching for our precious boy. We ran up and down Benaroon Drive, sobbing, frantically calling his name and knocking on doors. Have you seen William? Have you seen a little boy in a Spiderman suit? Our panic and fear was palpable. We had to find William.

Soon neighbours heard our cries and came to help us search. Police, emergency services and the SES came to search.  Children, teenagers on bikes and mothers pushing prams came to help search. The town of Kendall all came to help search for our precious little boy. We searched everywhere. We searched in drains. We searched in bush – bush so rugged and so overcome with lantana that it seemed impossible for William to have ventured there; but we searched there anyway trying to find our boy. We searched under houses, in sheds, in garages. We searched along bush tracks, anywhere that William might have wandered. We called his name – William. No one could stop us searching for our boy. We had to find him. From first light and well into the night we searched. That first dark day became the second, and the second became the third – Every day our search continued – a family and a community united, searching for William in any possible place that he might have wandered off to.

It’s now been 2127 heartbreaking days since those first dark moments, days and weeks of absolute terror, but we have never given up the search for our precious little boy.  We will never give up the search to find William and bring him home.

If you have any information relating to his disappearance, please contact Crime Stoppers now on 1800 333 000 or visit the Crime Stoppers online reporting page nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.

Where’s the Justice for William and the People of NSW?

April 6, 2020 by Where's William? Campaign

From the moment Gary Jubelin was appointed to lead Strike Force Rosann, he lived and breathed the investigation with absolute commitment to finding out what has happened to William.

From the outset, Gary and a dedicated few in Strike Force Rosann were faced with enormous challenges, barriers and constant distractions that have consistently diverted resources away from the investigation to find a 3-year-old little boy.

And yet, even when faced with these extreme obstacles, Gary and those who shared his passion and commitment, have lived and breathed this purpose with undying dedication and always to bring justice for William and all those who love him.

There is little doubt that this wouldn’t be the first occasion when someone with this level of responsibility has gone above and beyond, crossing boundaries and creating new boundaries to achieve an outcome and justice for 3-year-old child and their loved ones.

Irrespective of the decision handed down today by Magistrate Ross Hudson, the situation is that Gary and his dedicated team members have given everything within their power in their resolve to finding William – even often at great personal expense and loss.

Where’s the justice for William? Where’s the justice for William and his loved ones?

Significantly, where is the justice for the people of NSW?  In the absence of justice for William, every day this heinous crime remains unsolved the perpetrator or perpetrators remain at large and capable of committing monstrous crimes against innocent children and their families.

If you have any information relating to his disappearance, please contact Crime Stoppers now on 1800 333 000 or visit the Crime Stoppers online reporting page nsw.crimestoppers.com.au.

Happy 8th Birthday William!

June 26, 2019 by Where's William? Campaign

“Today is William’s 8th Birthday – another birthday without our precious little boy. Instead of celebrating with laughter, cake, toys and treats for our happy, growing 8-year-old boy; today we are reminded that it’s been 1748 sleeps without you – almost 5 long years of overwhelming loss, fears and tears. Today our thoughts are of you, William, and of the lost moments, the lost years… The years of not knowing what has happened to you, of not knowing where you are, of not knowing if you’re happy or if you’re sad…

“Happy 8th Birthday William. Wherever you are, you are in our hearts and in our thoughts every minute of every day. We will never give up on you, not today, not ever. This has and always will be our promise to you.”

EVEN AFTER SEVEN YEARS OF HEARTBREAK – WE HAVE NOT GIVEN UP ON WILLIAM!
To watch your friends suffering through something as traumatic as this…there are just no words. As family and friends we try to support them, but how? What can any of us possibly do or say that would make a difference….? William is missing. The only way for this nightmare to end is for William to come home.
A Family Friend
I love my brother and I miss playing with him. I get sad when I think that bad people have hurt him. I want William home.
William’s 5-year-old Sister
William’s a baby and he needs to be home with his family. He’s an innocent little boy with a sister who wants her brother home. William’s Mummy, Daddy and sister are so sad and lonely without their precious boy. We love our boy and will never stop looking for him to bring him home.
William's Nana
This has torn away the fabric and foundation of life as we know it -shattered our entire family to the core. The words broken hearted come to mind, but in fact this is not even close to the way our family feels on so many levels. What has happened to William is wrong, so very wrong. Can you help bring William home?
William's Daddy
I pray he’s safe. I pray he’s being cherished. I pray that someone will say something. It’s too big a secret to keep. Please tell the Police what you know and help bring William home to us.
William’s Mummy
William needs the voice of many, his is silent. Who else will speak for him? Please join us in providing a voice for William. When children are just 3, their voices are not heard, but there are other voices that can speak louder. There are voices that can speak up for him and help us find our little boy. Who will stand by William and “shout” for him to help bring William home.
William's Mummy
Please don’t give up on our boy. Don’t give up on bringing William home. Never say never. Where there is a chance that someone might come forward, there is hope that we all have the chance to bring William home.
William's Daddy
This has torn away the fabric and foundation of life as we know it -shattered our entire family to the core. The words broken hearted come to mind, but in fact this is not even close to the way our family feels on so many levels. What has happened to William is wrong, so very wrong. I wish, I pray, I cry each night for him. I see other children and families with boys the same age and feel so ripped off, short changed, for him, his sister, my family and myself. I fear the worst but yet pray for something, anything. Someone knows something, someone always knows something. Someone can help find William and bring him home.
William's Daddy
William has cousins, he has uncles and aunts. They miss talking to him on the phone. They miss hearing him tell them about his friends, his toys, and riding his bike. They miss seeing him and his sister together. They miss his happy little face and his fun-loving play. Family get-togethers are always tinged with good memories and deep, profound sadness.
William's Mummy

Somebody knows something.
Somebody can help bring William home.
